EHSI/Healthy Buildings can assist you with LEED Environmental Quality (EQ) credits including Prerequisite 2 – Environmental Tobacco Smoke, EQ Cr 3.1 – IAQ During Construction and EQ Cr 3.2 IAQ Prior to Occupancy. In fact, the manager of the IAQ Service line at EHSI/Healthy Buildings is a LEED AP and would be pleased to talk with you about IAQ services that can support the LEED® or other green building accreditation systems. EHSI/Healthy Buildings has also worked with the Living Building Challenge (LBC) to develop IAQ strategies for high performance buildings that “go beyond” LEED®.
For EQ Credit 3.1 EHSI/Healthy Buildings provides worker training regarding construction practices and materials that can affect IAQ and includes at least six site visits during
construction to identify the practices being used to minimize future IAQ problems.
For EQ Credit 3.2 EHSI/Healthy Buildings provides the client with pre-occupancy information regarding airborne contaminant levels for dust, VOCs, carbon monoxide,
formaldehyde and 4-Phenylcyclohexene (4-PCH). EHSI/Healthy Buildings provides its clients with information designed to assist them in successfully achieving this credit and provides all the testing and analytical services necessary to meet the credit requirements. Call us if you would like to discuss the benefits of the acceptable alternative methods to achieve this credit.
Prerequisite 2 – Environmental Tobacco Smoke Option 3 has proven to be a
challenging credit to obtain, in part because the LEED® specified test methods were originally written for single family residences and to achieve this credit the method must be applied to units within a multi-unit complex. Despite the challenges EHSI/Healthy Buildings has successfully worked with clients to help them achieve this prerequisite credit. Call us to discuss how we may be able to assist you achieve this credit as well.
